Surgery for Daddy

Last Wednesday I took Nick up for his Tonsillectomy, Septoplasty, and Turbinate Reduction surgery in LAX. We knew we were going to be in for a rough week. A tonsillectomy as an adult is more severe than as a child, plus having two other procedures done at the same time. The surgery went well. We did spend the night in one of the new rooms in the peds unit so he could be monitored overnight. We were sent home Friday. I felt so bad for Nick...It was so hard to see him in such pain and discomfort. He sleeps alot, and can already breathe better through his nose. I keep telling him it will all be worth it in the end. Monday we will have another appointment with his surgeon/doc and he will remove the plastic in Nick's nose that is helping to widen his airway. Mikayla has been a trooper thru all of this as well. Thank you everyone for the cards,calls and visits this week. We are just taking one day at a time, and eating lots of mashed potatoes, and ice cream!~
